Sugared Walnuts

Thought I would share a recipe I plan on making and using to fill whatever tins or boxes I alter for Christmas :D

Sugared Walnuts

16 oz pkg Walnut Halves

1/2c. butter, melted

1/2c. powdered sugar

1-1/2 t. cinnamon

1/4 t. ground cloves

1/4 t. ground ginger

Preheat slow cooker on high setting for about 15 minutes. Add nuts and butter, stirring to mix well. Add powdered sugar; mix until coated evenly. Cover and cook on high setting for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to low setting. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 hours, or until nuts are coated with a crisp glaze. Transfer nuts to a serving bowl; set aside. Combine spices in a small bowl and sprinkle over nuts, stirring to coat evenly. Cool before serving. Store in airtight container. Serves 12-16.

What I've been doing!

I got up the single use license at both ACOT and OSCRAPS, so that's finished! I've also been subbing at my little man's preschool. I think they just need to hire me full time! LOL!
We got our orders yesterday so I've been house hunting. We have the Marine Corps Ball in Nov. so we'll be looking at some houses before heading to the hotel.
Other than that, I pretty much have everything done for Dream Street for my winter release. I'm just waiting to hear back on the changes!

I've had some emails about this so thought I would also put my answer's here. I do not allow commercial use of my products or freebies at this time. One of this weeks challenges for the 2CC contest I'm in, is to use the letter "B" as a monogram...so this is what I came up with :D TFL!
I'm thinking I should have did the B in a green and not white to make it stand out more.

Rock ON!!

I've been looking for a ball dress for a couple days. I went to Dillards on Monday and tried on about 6 and NOTHING looked right! A couple girls from an Yahoo group that I belong too for recruiters wives got their dresses at JCPennys, so I decided to go and look today. Well, they're having their buy one, get the second for .88 sale. Along with their final clearance of 1.97-3.97. Needless to say I saved 149.00 and spent 55!
This is the dress I got for the ball. It'll be fun to dress it up with some jewelry! I also picked up another black dress that I can wear to the CHA shows for 1.97, a new born Carters onesie for my friend for 1.97, and dh a shirt for 3.97! I love me some sales!!

Some Scrappy Things

Yesterday I didn't get much done as I wanted too. I did a magazine ad for Dream Street, which is SO not all that fun! But I got ONE done!
Mikkel Paige and I have come together to do a collab kit! I did the papers and Mikkel added the elements! You can check out Autumn Breezes here!

October Guest Designer

I also wanted to share some news! Every month 2croppincousinz does a challenge for those that want to be a guest designer for their site, well I won for this month! Here are some of the layouts I did with their October Kit! Also they're doing a month long contest, so I thought I would participate to get me back into the scrapping mood again! Here are my two layouts I did for the contest! The first is a hybrid using Jen Wilson's Midnight Jack, I scraplifted Marcie and the second using Basic Grey and Petaloo, I scraplifted Kel!

We tested the interest to our combined approach of scrapbooking by referencing our website at a few select on-line locations. The response was overwhelming as our list of interested scrapbook artist grew to well over 10,000 in a matter of days.

Major Brownie Points

For DH this week! This is what he come home with for me the other day! Granted, he forgot a memory card, he said it was for putting up with 10 years of the Marine Corps! HAHA!
Then he took me out to pick out new living room furniture and a dinning room table! Big points for him this week, for sure!!

I'm Alive!

Out of bed and feeling so much better today! I got up, took the kids to school then had to come home and clean my house, which looked like a bachler pad! UGH! So I'm around checking emails and have to run some short errands today. I'm hoping to get some designing done this week :D

An Update

I've been in bed for two days with Strep and also a bacterial infection in my kidneys, so I'm pretty much down for the count. So if anyone needs anything from me, be patient I'm trying to check my email at least once a day. Luckily DH has been able to be off quite a bit to help with the boys.

Reveal Time! It's the 18th!

No one guessed I was doing stamps! I met Heather at CHA-S, and she's asked me to do some stamps for her new company Super-T's! It's taken awhile to get them done, you have to have the right spacing blah blah blah fun stuff, but I can't wait to see them all in person! I think we have a pretty good first release, plus we'll do custom stamps for LSSs and Kit Clubs!

Tired Today

I had some stamp sets all ready to go, only to find out I needed to redo them due to space in between the stamps, and they're suppose to be a Memory Trends release! UGH! Heather I love ya, but stamps suck :D
I did get a couple things put up yesterday at ACOT and Oscraps. I'm trying to get my Oscraps store complete so everyone can take advantage of the coupon code, also if you missed the OChat or couldn't get in, the kit is now in the store!
BUT I did get a layout picked up for the Digital Mag of Simple Scrapbooks, It'll be in their Feb/March issue. I also was choosen as a guest desginer for Oct. for the kit club 2Croppincousinz, which I'm totally excited for!
AND Friday, DH will re-enlist four another for years of active duty!

I always tell my mom not to stress about the stuff that you can't change. Well, I guess I need to take my own advice ;) I thought about switching to another blog host, but I was the one that wasn't carefully with my PW, so I'll just suck it up and move on. Instead of sitting here upset I started a kit that I just can't seem to finish. So I did an 8x10 QP so everyone can see where I'm going with it. What I'm looking for is suggestions, as to what else you would like to see in the kit. If I use your suggestion I'll send the finished kit to you, so please leave an email addy so I can reach you.

Scrapped a bit today

I'm teaching a scrapbook class tomorrow at one of the churchs here. They want to learn a new technique, so I think I'll take our new frames with me tomorrow! I wanted to do an example so this is what I came up with! I also did it for the Guest Designer Challenge at 2croppincousinz. The challenge was to use at least 3 office supplies, so this is what I came up with!

Dream Street Shadow Boxes!

Have hit the stores! Along with the rest of ALL our new products! It's exciting to hear that our book boards are flying off the shelves! There's a store online that is carrying ALL of our products. They've already sold our of our 6x12 books in a week! Why? Because our books are pre-punched. Also, our stickers are pre-punched. So all you have to do is peel and stick! What could be easier, seriously! And of course we have NINE new paper lines with coordinating Alphas, 6x6 Stickers and also 2 6x12 Sticker sheets along with a WHITE chipboard alpha! Enough rambling, but you can check out ALL our new products HERE!

A freebie and News!

Some have wondered where have all the freebies gone! WELL they went over to ScrapWow! I'm not sure how they will be using them but they are for members so go sign-up!
