DIY Holiday Gifts

I'm always on the look out for fun gifts for teachers, family and friends during the holidays. Last Easter, while my grandma and great aunt were out here in St Louis, we hit up Michaels. If you haven't been there lately they have a dollar spot that you need to check out! We picked up these nice journaling books and note books with nice patterns on them, but as a crafter I knew I could do something more useful with them. I also sell fabric, wallpaper, wrapping paper etc on spoonflower and I have to order a swatch before I can set my items for sale. In the past I've done a blog post about how to cover these books with the fabric. As a crafter though, I always have scraps laying around that I tend to hoard like the rest of my kind ;) This is a great way to get rid of those scraps or an easy way to keep those kiddos busy while on holiday break! If you're a digi gal you can create the entire front and back page for you book or just print off paper and embellies and go from there to save some time and money.  I have some new free Ikat papers on my Facebook Freebie page today. When I put these together I used items from a couple different companies. I used Helmar Adhesives as well, particularly the 450 Adhesive along with scrapdots and zapdots.
