For those wanting to learn

How to use your computer to scrap or even those card makers that want to save some cash and learn how to use the abundance of digital supplies that are out there, I've found the book for you! Whenever someone asks me "How do I start" I always tell them to get Photoshop Elements and to search out tutorials on learning how to use the basics in the program. Well, I've got a simplified answer now, buy the book Digital & Hybrid Scrapbooking and Card Making with Photoshop Elements. I can't imagine the time that was put in this book, but it starts off on how to load Photoshop onto your computer! It goes step-by-step on how to use the tools, and the best part, it's so easy to understand! LOL! I think this book would be great for any beginner that has photoshop. It talks about how to get started, organizing, cameras, EHDs, Wacom Tablets to the technical stuff of resolution and the tools included in PSE. There's even a chapter on how to shop and download digital stuff! The best part is, if you live in CA, they have classes you can attend!
See the book and site here!

Kicking my Butt!

So this move is really kicking my butt! We've looked at 8 houses and have finally settled on one, I just need to call the owner to get payment up to him! It's crazy how expensive it is to relocate!! BUT I did manage to get my Christmas cards done!! I have 5x7s printed at Shutterfly! I also tried out there printing service for an 8x8 and 12x12 layout and the quality is awesome! Nice glossy prints that are true 12x12 and 8x8! When uploading my 5x7 cards, I forgot to get the specs, but an easy fix was going back and cropping them to 5x7 and they printed perfectly! With envelopes I might add! It didn't take long at all to get everything, I think my 12x12 print came a day later then the rest of my order, but it was worth the wait! Here's what my 5x7 card looks like, I used the Shabby Princess 2007 Holiday Card Collection.

Sugared Walnuts

Thought I would share a recipe I plan on making and using to fill whatever tins or boxes I alter for Christmas :D

Sugared Walnuts

16 oz pkg Walnut Halves

1/2c. butter, melted

1/2c. powdered sugar

1-1/2 t. cinnamon

1/4 t. ground cloves

1/4 t. ground ginger

Preheat slow cooker on high setting for about 15 minutes. Add nuts and butter, stirring to mix well. Add powdered sugar; mix until coated evenly. Cover and cook on high setting for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to low setting. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 hours, or until nuts are coated with a crisp glaze. Transfer nuts to a serving bowl; set aside. Combine spices in a small bowl and sprinkle over nuts, stirring to coat evenly. Cool before serving. Store in airtight container. Serves 12-16.

We got our orders yesterday so I've been house hunting. We have the Marine Corps Ball in Nov. so we'll be looking at some houses before heading to the hotel.
Other than that, I pretty much have everything done for Dream Street for my winter release. I'm just waiting to hear back on the changes!

I will be offering commercial use with special terms for 5.00 per kit, freebies included. I did offer this use at Scrapix, so those that did purchase for the year you're still good to go. Hopefully I can get the graphic done and in the stores very soon. This commercial use does NOT include making websites, blog banners or ETSY banners for sale.
