FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ScrapHD Unveils Scrapbook Industry Partners, Launches Private Beta for New Website
CHICAGO, July 28, 2009 – ScrapHD (SHD), a soon-to-launch online community committed to promoting and enhancing the hobby of scrapbooking, announced today that they are partnering with many of the top manufacturers in the scrapbook industry, including : 7gypsies, American Crafts, Art Gone Wild!, Imaginisce, Jenni Bowlin Studio, Karen Foster Design, Mrs. Grossman’s, My Mind’s Eye, Piggy Tales, SEI, Teresa Collins Designs, and Three Bugs in a Rug.
ScrapHD’s partners will be providing digital content for use within its website’s user-friendly, online builder application where consumers will have the ability to create scrapbooks starting from a blank canvas or pre-made templates that are fully customizable.
The “HD” in the company’s name stands for Hybrid Designs, which combines the traditional techniques of paper scrapbooking with the innovative technology of digital scrapbooking. The goal of ScrapHD is to help drive new traffic into scrapbook stores worldwide and educate scrapbookers on the latest physical products available at their local store, allowing users to print traditional scrapbook page sizes of 12x12, 8x8, or 5x7 from home. In addition, SHD delivers professionally printed single sheets for those who do not wish to print from home.
ScrapHD encourages the community to support their local store by creating customized scrapbook pages then purchasing binding materials, page protectors, albums, adhesives, and embellishments to “Make it Hybrid.” For those who prefer a pre-bound book, that option is also available.
The setup process is simple; downloading of software is unnecessary. The scrapbook builder allows users to upload photos directly from their hard drive, Facebook, FlickR, or Photobucket accounts. Users will enjoy advanced photo editing features made easy and the ability to choose from partner content using drag-and-drop technology, including thousands of backgrounds and embellishments that can be resized and layered throughout the creation process. Once a layout is complete, the user can share the creation on social networks and blogs, print it, and “Make it Hybrid.”
ScrapHD’s website will also include many community features including the ability to create a user profile page, private messaging to other members, commenting on one another’s scrapbooks, friendship adding, and advanced integration with Facebook.
Those attending CHA in Orlando are encouraged to stop by the ScrapHD booth and register for the private beta testing. All others may visit www.scraphd.com to be alerted when the site goes live.
