From my wonderful vacation to NE! I have lots of scrapping to do so I started last night! I did my first storyboard, sorta, I did mine 8x10 so I can frame it. I have a couple I can do like this that will look great framed so I saved the template and also have it for you if you want it :D

There are TONS of designers, products and new sites! So I visited a site that I really haven't looked and and was browsing their printalbes. And I find a matchbook :D That's totally cool...BUT the preview and template are exactly like mine! WTH! At least if you're going to come up with a printable try and do something that no one else is..OR if you do..try and make it look like it's different than someone else is doing ;) I've been doing printable Matchbooks for awhile and I don't care if anyone else does them..but at least put your own touch on it :D Alrighty..that's my rant for this morning..now I'm off for another cup of coffee :D

A&E

Started watching a program today on A&E about Marines in Iraq and had to turn it. Couldn't do it. When DH and I start talking about what we're going to do next, it's programs like that that makes me want him to stay on recruiting duty. I recently read an article about a mom who lost her son in Iraq, a Marine. She didn't know about how it all happened except HBO was doing a documentary during that time and that's how she found out the circumstances of what happened to her son. I couldn't imagine watching something like that OR the program on A&E and finding out the details of losing a loved one. So maybe recruiting duty and the long hours aren't looking so bad right about now.....

Can't really say why, but just a little disheartened. Sometimes it's just SO HARD to get ahead in this industry. Even though I went out on a limb, I knew I would never have gotten farther than that. So why keep trying? That's my thought for today, so if this post is totally confusing :D

New Series

I'm finishing up a new series called 2PackScraps. Basically they're small mini kit with two of everything :D I think I'll put the first series here on my blog for everyone to ~try out~. I'll try and get them all ready tonight or tomorrow :D If you want to keep informed just joing the yahoo group at the bottom of the page!

Have you all been reading about this popular poo. I have to say that it's going to happen. If we think about it, it's everywhere we go. Work, school, church everywhere. So of COURSE it's going to happen! I have my fav designers too just like all of you. They may not be on the "cool" list but they're on my cool list so that's all that matters to me :D I'm not sure if I'll ever be on the "cool" list, does it matter? Not really. I set my own goals for myself, like everyone else. When I first started out scrapping, I set these goals:
Get on a DT/CT
Get published
Start Designing
Get papers printed

and I've accomplished every one of them! And that's all that should matter, is how WE view ourselves and whether we've met the goals we have set for ourselves :D


Enough rambling, I'll try and get that series up and going today and definitley by the end of the week!

One more thing...why is it that only ONE person has contacted me to get those FREE scraplets!!! Hop on it ladies/gents! Forward me those receipts! I'd rather give them as a gift then sell them!

Working Out

First..check out the Health Calculator. My goal is to start exercising more to tone up! So I'm going to share what I'm doing and maybe if you need to do the same we can work out together! One thing I need to work on is those lovely love handles! So here's some exercise techniques I'm going to add to my list of TO-DO's!

Lose your love handle's workout:

Beginner: Tai Chi Sweep

(A) Stand tall with your feet wide, your abs pulled tightly inward, and bend your knees a few inches. Bend your elbows up and in front of you so that they are at waist height and both of your palms are facing toward the right. Pull your abs tightly inward.

(B) Keeping your abs pulled inward and the rest of your body rigid, twist to the right and sweep your arms as far across your body pushing the energy, or "chi," as you go.

(C) Immediately turn your palms toward the left and, by twisting from the waist, sweep your arms to the left. Continue alternating twists left and right.

Intermediate: Crossover Twist

(A) Stand tall with your feet hip width apart with your elbows bent and your hands behind your ears. Pull your abs in tight.

(B) Lift your right knee as you twist from the waist to bring your left elbow toward it. (Depending on your balance and flexibility you may or may not be able to touch your elbow to your knee.) Hold a moment and repeat with the opposite arm and leg. Continue alternating until you've completed all reps.

Advanced: The Flamingo Flex

(A) Stand tall with your feet hip width apart, your hands behind your head, elbows bent. Bend your right knee and lift it up and out to the side so that both your hip and knee are turned outward.

(B) Slowly bend from the waist and lower your right elbow toward your knee. (Depending on your balance and flexibility you may or may not be able to touch your elbow to your knee.) Hold a moment at the bottom of the movement and then slowly return to the start. Do all reps to the one side and then do an equal number of reps to the left.



Beginner: Basic Russian Twist

(A) Sit up tall on the edge of a sturdy chair with your toes on the floor, heels lifted. Bend your elbows and place your hands behind your head without lacing your fingers together. Pulling your abs inward, lean back a few inches from the hips.

(B) Maintaining strong abs and a slight backwards lean, twist left and right from the waist until you've completed all reps.

Intermediate: One Leg Russian Twist

(A) Sit up tall on the edge of a sturdy chair with your right toe on the floor, heel lifted and your left leg bent and held a few inches up off the floor in front of you. Bend your elbows and place your hands behind your head without lacing your fingers together. Pulling your abs inward, lean back a few inches from the hips. (B) Maintaining strong abs and a slight backward lean, twist your left elbow toward your right knee and then return to the start. Hold a moment at the bottom of the movement and then slowly return to the start. Do all reps to the one side and then do an equal number of reps to the left.

Advanced: Russian Twist Balance

(A) Sit up tall on the edge of a sturdy chair with your toes pointed and your knees bent. Raise both feet off the floor a few inches. Bend your elbows and place your hands behind your head without lacing your fingers together. Pulling your abs inward, lean back a few inches from the hips.
(B) Maintaining strong abs and a slight backward lean, twist left and right from the waist until you've completed all reps.



Beginner: Side Bridge

(A) Lie on your right side with your bent knees slightly forward of your body and your feet tucked behind you. Bend your right elbow and rest your forearm along the floor so that your right hand is out in front of you and place your left palm in front of your chest for balance and support as needed. Pull your abs in tight.

(B) Keeping your abs pulled strongly inward, lift your torso and hips off the floor and hold for a slow count of 20. As you hold, concentrate on letting your abdominal muscles do all of the work and keeping your neck, shoulders and lower back relaxed.

(C) Slowly lower to the start, rest briefly, and repeat twice before switching to the other side.

Intermediate: Slow Bicycles

(A) Lie on your back with your left knee bent toward your chest, your right leg extended and a few inches off the floor. Place your hands behind your head, fingertips touching; curl your head, neck and shoulders up. Rotate from your middle so that your right elbow is pointing toward your left knee.
(B) Hold the starting position for a slow 3 count, then slowly rotate to the other side by bending your right knee and extending your left leg as your left elbow moves toward your right knee. Again, hold slow 3 count. Continue rotating to complete reps.

Advanced: Ab Circles

(A) Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet hip width apart, flat on the floor. Place your hands behind your head but don't lace your fingers together. Round your elbows outward, tuck your chin slightly, and pull your abdominals in toward your spine. To start, lift your head, neck and shoulder blades off the floor and hold.

(B) Make a small clockwise circle with your waist: Bend a small distance to the left, curl a small distance upward, bend a small distance to the right, and then lower a small distance downward. This is one repetition. Do an equal number of reps in a counterclockwise direction.



Below, you'll find a variety of cardio activities that target your waistline while burning calories.

What a week

Is it Friday yet? Well it really doesn't matter when your a SAHM/Single but married parent! LOL! I found out Tuesday that my cousin, who is the same age as I am passed away in his sleep. They're not sure what happened yet. I registered my oldest for Kindergarden today :( And Jason is looking at having to go to St. Louis this weekend...uugghhh......

So...what's been going on?

Well not much here :D I went shopping and well, Ill have to put a photo up of one of the things I bought. Ok, even though I have a constipated laughing face maybe in the picture, I have to share! So, I dared my friend that I was shopping with to try one of these on. When I saw here in it it looked so freakin' cute on her I had to try one on too! So we both ended up buying one! Fun eh!

Then last night my little man got sick :( It's terrible seeing him like that :( He also likes to say the "F" and "S" word at the moment so we're working on that :D
Today I'm hoping to start on set FOUR of the Family Affair Collection and hopefully get some scrapping done!

Hump Day

Yep it's that day again, and what does it mean to me? Nothing. DH works 6 sometimes 7 days a week so it means nothing :D Christian decided this week to dump a bottle of syrup on my kitchen floor, jelly on my window counter along with a bottle of Peytans medicine which is powder form. What a week! Other than that I'm feeling MUCH better, computer is working, and DH wrote his first contract today with two more before Friday, keeping fingers crossed on that one ;) Well I hope everyone is having a great week, and before you know it the server change at 3Scrap will be done and over with! WOOHOO!!!

Now I know that you can bypass paypal and pay by CC but does anyone actually do this, or do they just use paypal? Just got me thinking about ACOT and how they don't accept paypal YET...is this a big issue or does it work out better? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

In Potter's (or Potter) syndrome, the baby's kidneys do not develop in the first few weeks of life in the womb. The baby's kidneys are essential for the production of amniotic fluid in the womb. If there are no kidneys, there is little or no amniotic fluid to expand the womb around the baby and to allow the baby to grow and move. The womb remains small and in its confined space the baby's lungs cannot develop properly. Many babies with Potter's syndrome are stillborn. In those who are born alive, the immediate cause of death is failure to breathe (respiratory failure) due to underdeveloped lungs, usually in the day or two after delivery. Even if this problem is treated the baby cannot survive without kidneys. (Potter's syndrome is also known as Renal Agenesis, which simply means that the kidneys did not develop). Jen and her family turned down their option of terminating the pregnancy in the belief that God was in control of the situation and would allow the baby to live as long as he or she was meant to. Their precious little baby was by all ultrasounds thought to be a little girl who was to be named Faith. They relied on God to give them strength to go through the pregnancy, so that they could spend as much time as possible with their precious little one.

January 14th, 2006 a note from Jen:
"Faith Elizabeth was born at 5:40 am this morning (at 34 weeks) and was promptly renamed Brett Andrew. 13 ultrasounds and we were all wrong. The labor was short and the delivery was uneventful. We were able to share his life for 1 hour before he passed away. He was, of course, perfect. Thank you for all of your thoughts and well wishes. God bless my little boy."

New Matchbook!

Vacation

Well it's almost over! Just about time to head home, so I made a freebie for everyone and a new matchbook for the store :D In the mean time we've adopted a puppy and a kitty! Well I guess the word is out!!!

Ya know....I started posting at A Cherry On Top when I first started digital scrapping, and now they're wanting to go digital! I've been talking with ACOT, they are pretty cool, about this venture for awhile now. After the phone call with Stephen, I've been thinking pretty hard about what I'm going to do. I know I want to stay at 3Scrap because I love it there, so I'm going to email those wonderful BIZ ladies with some help! LOL! It's great to see which designers were asked because they kinda kept things in the dark about it. Just said it was going to be exciting :D

Free Matchbook!

As promised! I didn't include elements, it seems most will print layouts and put them on the pages so I left them out this time. I also left out the burn, fold marks on the inner pages, since most don't fold or use them, so I'm testing to see how this works :D I've included instructions in the zip. PLEASE do NOT distribute this in a Yahoo group or any other group! That's called piracy and it's not nice :D I'm also trying a new host, since yousendit was being silly this morning and didn't want to load. Hopefully it's not too much of a hastle :D I used my Mint Cocoa scrapkit to make the matchbook, I hope you all enjoy :D Make sure to read the directions and contact me if you have any questions :D

You know what just sucks

To wake up and going through email you realize another designer has emailed you with info of your files being passed around a yahoo group. It's such a big downer that I work so hard on making these files, why? Why would I continue to do this if I know my files are going to be passed around like its nothing? Why do I continue designing? Sometimes I just don't have the answeres or maybe I just don't want to face the questions. Then I read on 2Peas that there is some psycho stalking her blog because she posted a pic of her little man helping paint in his spidermans! How sick is this world! Sometimes I wonder. Well I'm off to clean something so I can take some time away from this computer. Thanks for reading my rant if you have :D

A Layout of Me!

Sometimes it's good to see the "face" behind the keyboard, so here's a layout of Dh and I. This was taken at the Marine Corps Ball this year! I've had Trish's CD for awhile and I just LOVE how it's jam packed full of goodies. I've been wanting to use this kit for awhile and I finally have the perfect pictures! I did this 8x10 so I can print and frame it!
I also just finished a new kit called Live Wire, the colors are pretty bold for me but I had FUN making it!!
On a side note, I had a recent issue with malware! Somehow it got downloaded when I watched a tribute video, how crappy is that! It took me almost a WHOLE day to remove it. It had to do with Spy Sherriff, if anyone has this issue let me know and I'll try and help!

My Purchase of the Day

I just got my first notebook! I bought it from a guy that DH works with! So I paid 400 dollars for a Dell Inspiron 6000!! I'm in the process of putting things on it that I'll need when I travel so I can scrap anywhere!

Holidays!

Well, now that the holidays are over I have some time for some of my ramblings! LOL! I'm going to be having a matchbook kit crop for those that needs some quick gifts or those that like to craft! I used my Home for the Holidays Kit! You'll need to download the zip before hand and come to the crop on Dec. 5th at 10pm for the password. I didnt want to crash anything since it's a large download for a freebie!
I still need to get my RAK mini kit together for the Dec. mega kit which looks AWESOME by the way! I also have two more layouts to get done for the sponsors for December along with some more for Kelly Shults and Trish Jones! I may have to bug AJ since she's selling again too!

I...CAN'T...HOLD ...IT

...IN...ANY.....LONGER! ~Leslie, feel free to call and yell~ I've been working with Scrapmuse since June with designing papers for them!! The owner, Leslie, keeps everything a secret until the monthly kits go out so I've been holding this in for WAY too long!! Anyways, I got the monthly kit today, THANKS LES, and I have to say the lady is a genious! It has such a great feel that I just want to site and stare at it and not use one thing! LOL If you don't want the monthly kit the papers will be in her store there, although I STRONGLY recommend trying one of her monthly kits! Thanks for entertaining my ramblings!!

Been sick :(

We've all had a touch of the flu the past couple weeks and TODAY we had tornado sitings! I forget what the winter is like in the south! I'm really excited about my new Printable Matchbook Kit that I just came out with..lookie what Doris made! I'm also having a 40% off sale until Friday!!

So I've been slack :D

We had my In-Laws visiting last week, they watched the boys while we went to the Marine Corps ball in St. Louis! Great time to say the least ;) I just got a new kit done also. If you've ever been down south during this time of year you know how gorgeous the changing of the leaves is. I couldn't quite get the colors I wanted, so luckily my friend Trish Jones let me grab some colors out of her Lifeline Page Kit! This should be in the store today!
